A shop process, sized by the oven
Powder coating charges dry powder electrostatically onto a grounded part, then flows and cures it in an oven (commonly 350–400°F for 10–20 minutes for polyester or epoxy powders). Because it's shop-applied, the Gulf Coast corrosion story is secondary — the deciding factors are finish durability and whether the part fits the line.

The trade-off is size: a large erected structure has to be liquid-coated in the field, while a fabricated part that fits the oven usually comes out tougher and cleaner in powder.
