The high-altitude, high-UV factor
Denver's dry climate means lower atmospheric corrosivity than coastal or salted regions — but that doesn't remove the need for prep. At altitude the UV is intense and daily temperature swings are large, so what the blast prepares for is a coating that has to resist sun and thermal movement more than salt.

Over a properly blasted surface (SSPC grade and profile to the coating spec), Denver work often finishes with a UV-stable aliphatic polyurethane or a polysiloxane topcoat that resists chalking and gloss loss under high-altitude ultraviolet, over a zinc or epoxy primer.
